How My First (and other) T-Shirt Collections Came to Life
When I started Neon Nomad, I didn’t just want to make T-shirts. I wanted to tell stories you could wear. Each one has its own little world, and this post is your all-access pass to the behind the designs.
Carnival ‘85 Tshirt
I still remember the summer I first watched Stranger Things. I was 14, Season 4 had just dropped, and believe it or not, I hadn’t seen a single episode before.
When I finally hit play, I was hooked. The 1980s retro vibe, the neon lights, the synth beats…it pulled me right in. That was also the summer Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush was everywhere, and it just made the whole experience feel… magical.
I wanted to bottle up that feeling and turn it into something you could actually wear. That’s how the Carnival ‘85 T-shirt was born. A little time machine to the summer of 1985, where the music was loud, the colors were bright, and summer never seemed to end.

SpaceCow T-Shirt Collection
Oooh ! This is an interesting one. I’m sure you all must be pretty familiar with the whole Cows and UFOs theme. You know, those quirky little illustrations of UFOs beaming cows into the air? It was so bizarre… but in the best way possible. Something about that surreal mix of farm life and outer space just stuck in my head.
The more I thought about it, the more I knew I had to turn it into something wearable. That’s how the SpaceCow Collection came to life. A mix of cosmic wonder and playful weirdness. Not gonna lie… this collection took ages to make (especially the “Guess I Was the Chosen One” T-shirt). But every detail was worth it to get that dreamy, otherworldly vibe just right.
So whether you’re a space nerd, a UFO enthusiast, or just a fellow daydreamer like me… this collection is for you.
And hey, if you spot a UFO beaming up a cow while wearing one, maybe you were the chosen one too !
P.S. I DON’T CARE T-Shirt Collection
This one’s close to my heart. Long before Neon Nomad even existed, I knew I wanted to create something around skateboarders…their cool, rebellious, unapologetic energy.
Coming from a background where I was (still am) always the “well mannered, good academics” kid, I used (kind of still do) to overthink everything. Whether it was making a decision, turning down a request for help, or simply doing something for myself, I’d worry…Is this right? Will I come off rude? Will this ruin my image?
I wanted to break out of that mindset and so the whole idea of not caring too much resonated to me. And one day, I saw a Deadpool shirt that said: Does it look like I care? Something about it clicked instantly. That was the spark. I decided to blend the raw, free-spirited skateboarder vibe with the unapologetic I don’t care attitude.
The result? My very first Neon Nomad T-shirt collection. I’m proud of how these designs turned out…and even prouder of what they stand for.
So, if you are an overthinker like me who wants to break out of that mindset or are craving that unapologetic energy…This T-Shirt Collection is for you !
